Welcome to the Painted Wind Ranch, located on 450 beautiful acres of meadow and farm land in Paris, Texas. The ranch is on land occupied by Keith’s Granddaddy since the 1940's. Our goal is to establish a quality Paint Horse breeding program focusing on Western Performance horses. Although we are still small, with about 25 horses now, we are carefully expanding with top quality mares and prospects. We also raise Brangus cattle, hay, and grain.
Our APHA stock is based mainly on Strait From Texas (the all-time leading point earning horse in APHA history) and our accomplished ranch sire, Strait Gunsmokensugar. We are proud of our horses and the fact that the Buddy offspring are especially curious, gentle, and appear to be very trainable. They look great, with generally muscular, compact stature. Since his oldest foal crop is only 3, none have been shown yet, but many trainers of the Buddy offspring have commented that they are awesome and they expect them to be very successful in the show pen.
