Strait Gunsmokensugar, known as “Buddy” at the Painted Wind Ranch, is the 2005 All Around Open World Champion American Paint Horse. Buddy also won the Oscar Crigler Cattle Award and was the Open High Point Western Performance Horse at the 2005 APHA World Show. Buddy has earned 6 APHA Superiors in working cowhorse, reining, tie down roping, steer stopping, heading and heeling, including 851 Open APHA points and earnings of $53,000+. He was the NRCHA Limited Open Horse of the Year in 2000.
A beautiful bay tobiano by Strait From Texas and out of Smokin Bar Sox, Buddy has a pedigree rich in cow horse lineage. He couples outstanding conformation and relaxed athleticism, two traits that have served him well during his show career. Buddy’s foals largely inherit his eager yet calm demeanor, and are becoming highly sought after by cow horse and reining trainers.

A live colored foal guarantee is offered for the 2008 breeding season, with multiple mare and early booking discounts available. Transported cooled semen, frozen semen, and on farm breeding is offered. Qualified semen export countries include Australia, Brazil, the European Union, Mexico, New Zealand, and the United Arab Emirates.
